About our Reading Campaigns
The Campbell Middle School SpartansRead! promotional reading campaign is an incentive-based reading program that encourages students to read independently and rewards students with incentives. The aim of the program is to increase student reading capacity, vocabulary, fluency, and stamina. Students choose any reading material of interest and record themselves reading aloud using the audio and video components at Flip.com. While students become increasingly motivated to participate, they are able to monitor their own progress and performance. The overarching goal is to increase gains in Reading and Math as evidenced through the Reading- and Math Inventories.
WeNeed2Read is an incentive initiative sponsored by DJ Greg Street of V103 radio station. It recognizes students for achieving gains in reading, evidenced through our school reading program - Scholastic Reading Inventory. One male and one female student from each grade level who have achieved the most gains by the end of the school year will receive a check from the program.
